Goodbye…

I’m closing this space. Well, not exactly closing. I’m just not going to update anymore. Certain things have happened and it’s resulted in the decision to stop blogging. Thus, no more updates.

Blogging, to me has always been about sharing things that happened in my life. All the good things and the bad ones. All the laughter and joy, the saddness and frustrations too.

For me, the short little chapter here over the past months have been really, really interesting. I’ll still be writing in the house blog. But no more personal blogs.

Thanks to all for reading and sharing your comments with me. ;) I’ve had fun writing the blog and sharing my life with you all.

Strangeness

I was reading Dara’s blog just now. Then for some strange reason, I had this feeling that I haven’t felt in ages. A strange exciting feeling rising up within me. With this adrenaline rush up and down my spine and a strange sense of motivation. It’s the sort of feeling I used to get back when I was in Secondary School and during my Poly days.

Hmm…. I guess it’s a nice feeling to have while I’m here. Makes it feel closer to home. LoLz. Eek! I realise that I have quite a number of readings to do… I better go do something about it…

I forgot about the camera!

I swear that tomorrow, I will remember to take a video. Opps. Here’s what happened. Wage injured himself. And I help him apply medication. And his moments of agony are extremely funny especially when his mantra is “Pain is weakness leaving the body”. Haha.

Anyway, tomorrow I will try to get the video taken. Hee~

Yay~ I have finished with my calculations for one of my many lab reports. Happy about it. Of course! So I can officially start on all the other parts. The thing is, I have to get the graph drawn. Shit. Now that’s not easy. Especially using SPSS. Hahaha.

Okay, I think I’ve slacked quite a bit today already. Hee~ Gotta go do my stuffs now. ;)

Something to kill time with…

If you have absolutely nothing to do… you can try this… http://thewicked.sgblogging.com/. It’s like a quiz sort of thing. More like a puzzle really. And you can try all the different levels and well, pass your time away. Or tear your hair out. Or whatever. LoLz~

Oh… PZ is over tonight… We’re supposed to be studying. Key word: Supposed. But well, we’re stuck on the puzzle website. Hahahahaha! Life is full of distractions isn’t it? LoLz~

Hmmm…. I’ve posted the parcel to D. I hope he receives it before 14 days. ;) And I sure as hell hope that he will like it. =) Hush… He doesn’t know what’s inside. At least not all the things. ;) Please, please let there be little mail so that the parcel will arrive fast. LoLz.

Speaking of which, I wonder when the Guide tees will arrive - to my house. XW sent it over. Or so what May Yi told May Ying that XW sent it over. Haven’t had the chance to check with her YET. LoLz~

Hmm… Okay… I better go do my stuff already. ;) Blog another time.

Just damn pissed.

KAN NI NA BEH PUA CHEE BYE! HONG GAN MOTHER FUCKER SUCK COCK ASS!

I’m damn, damn, damn irritated now.

1. I lost my lip balm. It’s the very berry flavoured one and it’s the third one (I lost the Strawberry Body Shop lip balm and the Nivea Strawberry Lip Balm). There goes all my berry flavoured lip blams.
2. I’m stuck with the yucky non-flavoured lip balms. That sucks BIG TIME.
3. SPSS cannot work. It jams my lappie up.
4. I have problems opening and unzipping files in my lappie.
5. Louis chewed my new story book (I just bought it on Friday at Chadstone!).

Seems like small, trival things right? Well, it all happened within an HOUR. That’s how shitty it is. To add on, I’m falling sick AGAIN. A month ago this time, I was sick. Now, I’m sick again. *araghz*

Alright. Ranted enough already. Got to go cook dinner. May Ying’s got a test so she cannot cook today.

A Chain of Interesting Events…

Hmm… Let’s start with Tuesday (4th April 2006). Christine came by to collect her jacket, purse and some papers because she left them at my place on Monday night. So I pass them to her. Then she left.

Later, just before lunch, Wage came back from school holding a mysterious package. He said that he found it outside our front door.

Image hosting by Photobucket
The mysterious package.

Image hosting by Photobucket
“Huh? What’s this? Looks like soil.” (Hmm… I think the ‘Free Sex’ service is compliments of Wage. Contact him for more details)

Then he put it on the table. Neither me nor May Ying could answer him. So I suggested to May Ying to open it and see what it is. May Ying opened it and promptly said that it was indeed soil.

That’s when I started thinking. And so I said, “Maybe it’s the tea for making bubble tea!”

“Huh?” They both said.

“Uh, well, Christine’s Dad did mention that he’ll pass us the tea for making bubble tea last night. So maybe Christine forgot to pass it to me and left it at our door instead.” I said. “Hmm, lemme smell that thing first.”

“Ever thought that it might be anthrax?” Wage said, not really meaning it.

“How can it be anthrax?!” said May Ying. “Anthrax is white!”

“Well, they could have dyed it to disguise it,” replied Wage.

“Don’t be silly lah,” said May Ying.

Image hosting by Photobucket
Soil or Anthrax? Or just tea for making bubble tea?

By this point of time, I’ve already sniffed into the bag. And so I announced to everyone, “It’s TEA lah! For making bubble tea!!!” Upon finishing my sentence, I dashed into my room and grabbed my phone. Yup, there was a sms from Christine (I suddenly thought that she might have messaged me because I left my phone in my room and after I thought she left, I went to make lunch and I couldn’t hear the door knock because of the rangewood). The message read: “Hey I left a bag of bubble tea powder outside your door- knocked a few times but think u busy. my mum give u one! rem to take in ah! ;)

Image hosting by Photobucket
It is bubble tea powder. Not soil or anthrax.

Image hosting by Photobucket
There you have it. Real bubble tea powder.

Yup, so case solved. It’s not anthrax or soil. It’s just bubble tea powder.

On Friday (7th April 2006), May Ying, Wage and I went to chadstone. We had to get some stuff…. And I was just wondering out loud to May Ying if Koko Black was opened. She said that she didn’t think that it’ll be open yet. But what a pleasant surprise we had! It was opened!

Image hosting by Photobucket
Here’s Koko Black @ Chadstone.

Image hosting by Photobucket
The familiar sign….

Image hosting by Photobucket
T2 is nearby…. opposite in fact… ;)

So we all decided to go in for a drink. As usual, the service is really prompt and good. ;) Plently of chocolates on display. Really great stuff. ;)

Image hosting by Photobucket
I had the Chocolate Ice Cream Spectacular. It’s premium chocolate ice cream topped with freshly made chocolate sauce and dark chocolate shavings. It’s simply divine. It’s not those type of ice creams that makes your throat clogged and requires you to drink water before continuing. This one just slides down your throat smoothly and tastes perfectly nice. ;) Beautiful piece of work.

Image hosting by Photobucket
Wage, well, Wage decided to just have a pot of Earl Grey tea. He’s not a fan of chocolate.

Image hosting by Photobucket
But they are really generous with the amount of tea leaves that they give…. Nice strong pot of tea… ;)

Image hosting by Photobucket
Hmm… May Ying had the same thing as last time - Koko Black Hot Chocolate. It’s freshly brewed traditional recipe made with dark Belgian Chocolate - no powder. And made with only full cream milk only. ;) The standard and consistency is the same as the branch in City. Simply too marvelous.

Image hosting by Photobucket
What we paid for all the heavenly stuff… ;) It’s reasonable. And the good thing is that the drinks taste great. It’s funny how they put the address on the receipt as the one in Royal Arcade Melbourne. I guess that’s their first outlet perhaps.

Louis is a pig. Well, what I mean is that he sleeps like one. Take a look.

Josh left his beanie behind… And Louis claimed it… ;)

Last night, I cooked chicken rice for dinner…

Image hosting by Photobucket
While I was washing the veggies, I found a snail…

Image hosting by Photobucket
I present to you… Our dinner… ;)

It comprises of…

Image hosting by Photobucket
Chicken! *duh!*

Image hosting by Photobucket
Rice! Ahbuden. If not called chicken rice for what. Right anot? Hahahaha

Image hosting by Photobucket
Veggies!

Image hosting by Photobucket
Cabbage soup.

Image hosting by Photobucket
We thought of drinking this….

Image hosting by Photobucket
But on second thought, we drank this. Why? Because I forgot to chill the Aloe Vera drink and because we’re all not done with our assignments. Better enjoy it after we’re done with assignments. ;)

Image hosting by Photobucket
I didn’t manage to get the chicken rice chilli. So this had to do for the time being…

Yeap… That’s our dinner last night… Nice right? Well, lemme tell you, it’s never easy cooking chicken rice without a chopper to chop up the damn chicken. Try using a normal kitchen knife. It’s hard to hack the damn chicken into pieces. Don’t always believe what you see at those hawker stalls. It’s never that easy. Oh, but thanks to all those teachings from Uncle Mail, I managed. It’s like chopping firewood. Always aim at the same spot. Then hit it. Then try again. Then the wood spilts. Oh yes, it works the same way for chicken if you don’t have a chopper. Hee~ See, Girl Guide training helps! Hehehehe~

Ah… I guess this sums up a chain of interesting events. LoLz. All the reported events started on Tuesday (4th April 2006) and ended on Saturday (8th April 2006). Yeap, that also includes the sleeping poses by Louis. He did it on Wednesday (5th April 2006), Thursday (6th April 2006) and Friday (7th April 2006)… ;) See, there’s always something interesting happening… Wahahahaha…

Alright, that’s it for now… ;)

Damn Headache…

Filed under: Daily Life, Friends, Darling

I’ve been having a damn irritating headache since 9plus last night. *araghz* Why won’t it just go away? Damn it. Super irritating man. It’s just so irritating that I vent all my frustrations on D. I know I’m just so bad. But I cannot help it. I’m just so glad that he’s soooooo understanding. ;)

Oooh! I made chrysanthemum tea today! Yay!!! Hahahaha. Made more than 2 litres of it. Cool huh. So everybody gets to drink mah… =) But a bit weird drinking such a cooling drink in such cold weather.

It rained and there is a possibility of having hail. Tomorrow too. *sighs* Poor PZ and me. We got lessons at caulfield as well. *sobs* And at clayton too. It’s a damn long day! *sobs sobs*

Alright, the headache is still killing me (though better than just now). I shall try to focus on doing something else - watch show! Hee~

Woo Hoo!!!!!! I finally got the parcel from D. Hee~ It’s got lotsa cute and useful stuff. I like! Hehehehehe!!! Well, when I have the time, I’ll take pics and post it up. Woo Hoo! LoL. ;)

PZ’s staying over tonight. We’re supposed to be doing schoolwork. But, we’re both watching shows. No, it’s not Seinfield. LoLz. We haven’t got a copy of it though. Kekekekekez.

Hmm…. damn addicted to Monk. Damn. Now I wanna finish the whole season one shot. LoLz. :)

Ooh… my camera (okay, D’s camera since we swopped cameras) became cranky today. The lens could not open and extend to take any photos. That is, until I loaded the 49 pics which was in the SD card. Gee…. the SD card is a 1GB one.. usually I can take about 1000 pics then load without any problems. Strange…. LoLz…

Hee~ I cannot wait to get back in school… It’s already week 6 of school… Hahahaha… 7 more to go then exams! Hahahaha… 3 Exam papers. *gulps* I hope I can make it. Hee~

Okay, it’s back to the shows already…. ;)

Damn the AP!!! (and I finally know what Schutzhund is)

Filed under: Daily Life, Friends, Louis

Hmm… Let’s see…. Today, school ended earlier than usual. Guess why? Because all the computers in the computer lab does not have the sound function, therefore, we had to go home since there was nothing else to do. Hahaha~

In the morning, school was altogether a different story. That stupid AP is still stuck in the 50s or 60s. Where Unis never gave notes nor had online recordings of lectures. So that’s what she wanted to do to us. How very nice of her. She says that such skills of taking own notes will be useful in future when we attend meetings that WON’T give notes. Does she have any idea that even nowadays, meetings require people to prepare therefore, everyone will basically have some clue about what is going on. Plus minutes of previous meetings can be considered to be the equivalent for NOTES. Oh well, I guess she’s just this motherfucker who’s been living with her head stuck in the sand throughout the past few decades. She cannot even get the school’s privacy policy straight! FUCKER!

Anyway, I found out what Schutzhund actually means. Basically… it is…

Schutzhund is a German word meaning “protection dog”. It refers to a sport that focuses on developing and evaluating those traits in dogs that make them more useful and happier companions to their owners. Schutzhund work concentrates on three parts. Many are familiar with the obedience work of the American Kennel Club’s affiliates and will recognize the first two parts, tracking and obedience. The Schutzhund standards for the third part, protection work, are similar to those for dogs in police work.

While dogs of other breeds are also actively involved in the sport of Schutzhund and often follow similar criteria for breeding purposes, this breed evaluation test was developed specifically for the German Shepherd Dog. Schutzhund is intended to demonstrate the dog’s intelligence and utility. As a working trial, Schutzhund measures the dog’s mental stability, endurance, structural efficiencies, ability to scent, willingness to work, courage, and trainability.

This working dog sport offers an opportunity for dog owners to train their dog and compete with each other for recognition of both the handler’s ability to train and the dog’s ability to perform as required. It is a sport enjoyed by persons of varied professions, who join together in a camaraderie born of their common interest in working with their dogs. Persons of all ages and conditions of life even those with significant disabilities enjoy Schutzhund as a sport. Often, it is a family sport.

(Source: http://www.germanshepherddog.com/schutzhund/index.htm)

Another website explains it as…

The Germans call it “hundesport”, dog sport. For generations, people from Europe and North America have been drawn into this unique idea of participating in an active sport with a dog. Schutzhund offers this in a way that no other sport can. It is outdoors. It is physical. It is mental. The demands are great, but the sport also offers competition and new friendships. In short, it is what all recreational sports should first be: good exercise, fun and full of rewards.
Schutzhund started at the beginning of this century as a test for working dogs. Its initial purpose was to determine which dogs could be used for breeding and which had true working ability. The growing demand for working dogs made more sophisticated tests and training necessary. These dogs were needed for police training, border patrol, customs, military and herding. As these tests evolved, more people participated just for the sheer enjoyment of seeing if their personal dogs could be trained as effectively as these “professional dogs”. Now, over sixty years after the first formal Schutzhund rules were introduced, tens of thousands of people participate in the sport each year.

Schutzhund tests three specific areas of a dog’s training and behavior. The first, tracking, requires the dog to track footsteps over mixed terrain, change direction and show absolute accuracy and commitment to finding the track. It must also find dropped articles and indicate their locations to the handler. Often this is done under less than ideal circumstances with difficult cover, bad weather conditions and an aged track. Many find tracking to be the most satisfying experience in training, when only the handler and dog are working together. It is certainly the most peaceful part of Schutzhund.

The second phase is obedience. Those who are familiar with AKC obedience will feel more comfortable in this area, as many of the exercises are similar to those in Open and Utility. There is heeling, both on and off lead. The sit, down and stand are also done, except when the dog is moving. But Schutzhund applies its own style to this work. Instead of a forty foot ring, the handler and dog work on a soccer sized trial field. Some exercises require the dog to work under the noise of a firing gun. In addition to the normal dumbbell retrieval, the dog must retrieve over a one meter jump and a six foot wall. Down stays and a long send away conclude the test.

The final test is the most misunderstood by the general public. This is protection. The most important point to understand when watching a protection routine, is the relationship between dog and handler. The dog must never bite the trial helper, unless either the dog or the handler is attacked. Then it must attack fully and without hesitation. But here the real difference becomes apparent. The dog must stop biting on the command of the handler and guard the trial helper without further aggression. Often people confuse Schutzhund protection training with police dog or personal protection work. The Schutzhund dog is capable of the feats of never being aggressive except under those specific situations it is trained to face, and even then it must always be under the absolute control of the handler. Click here for 2004 Rules

The above tests are difficult enough, but to make it even more demanding, they all happen in one day during competitions that are held all over the country. These trials are held by local clubs or in regional and national championships. Each dog is judged by a complex point system that then determines the winner of the trial.

When a dog successfully completes the first trial, it is awarded a title of Schutzhund I. It can then progress to Schutzhund II and, the ultimate, Schutzhund III. Each level makes ever greater demands on the dog and training in all three areas. Any Schutzhunder will tell you that a high scoring Schutzhund III dog is the ultimate working dog: one in a thousand of all working dogs.

In addition to the Schutzhund I, II and III titles, other titles in advanced tracking, temperament tests, police training and agility work are awarded.

Today, Schutzhund is more than the small group that started in Germany so long ago. Its organizations have several hundred thousand members, scattered across Europe, North America and several other continents.

*Schutzhund has been changed to VPG (in German- Vielseitigkeitspruefung für Gebrauchshunde) which roughly translates into ‘versatility test for working dogs.’

Pretty cool huh… Cool doggie sport. ;) How sweet can that be? LoLz. I cannot wait to watch Monk Season 4. *araghz* Speaking of which, I also need to watch Seinfield. For the this group project for that STUPID AP.

Ah wells, I better go help May Ying cook dinner. Cuz Christine and Wage’s Friend are having dinner together with us today… Haha~ Later then. *ughz* Louis is sleeping inside my open wardrobe…. or at least part in and part out….

Chocolates & Clubbing…

Filed under: Daily Life, Food, Friends, Louis

I finally managed to find the time to sit down and blog about Friday’s events. Hee~ Sounds as though I’m really busy right? Actually, I’m not. Wahahahaha. I’m just busy with clearing my room, doing my laundry, bringing the dog for a walk, giving the dog a bath et cetera. Okay, technically, that does sound like a lot of things, but practicality speaking, it doesn’t really seem much but it does take up quite a bit of time.

So anyway, on Friday, May Ying and I went on a chocolate spree. Hahaha. We tried the same drinks (or at least as similar as possible) at both Koko Black and Max Brenner. We compared both. But first… here’s what we ordered.

From Koko Black…

Image hosting by Photobucket
This is their menu. The selection for drinks is rather small though. But nonetheless, it still had all the all time favourites in it. But they had this wonderfully beautiful selection of boutique chocolates. They all looked so wonderful and tempting but also really, really sinful. We didn’t get any of the chocs though (after all, I do have the tendency of getting sore throats especially if I don’t drink water after eating chocs).

The ambience was really nice. We were at the branch at Royal Arcade Melbourne (by the way, Koko Black is opening at Chadstone. Yippee!). And they had quite a number of really cosy sofas and sofa seats that you could just sink in and enjoy the wonderful chocolates and chocolate drinks. ;) Simply divine.

Image hosting by Photobucket
May Ying had Koko Black Hot Chocolate. It’s a freshly brewed traditional recipe made with dark Belgian chocolate without powder and uses only full cream milk only. Looks yummlicious. ;)

Image hosting by Photobucket
While I had Iced Chocolate. It’s a rich combination of chocolate and vanilla ice cream with milk and topped with chocolate shavings. A cold and delicious treat.

Image hosting by Photobucket
What we paid…

Overall Rating:
Quality - 4/5
Taste - 4.5/5
Presentation - 4.5/5
Service - 4/5
Ambience - 4.5/5
Pricing - 4/5

Other Comments:
The milk used is really fresh and the drinks are not too sweet. Absolutely perfect if you want to have chocolates to snack with. Cosy setting and nice mood lighting, it’s just right for a nice networking (and by networking, I actually mean gossiping) session (okay, Girl Talk would be more appropriate) or just chilling out with friends and family or even by yourself! On top of that, the service was really good. The waitress came fast to take orders and the drinks were served really fast. It was quite crowded but still, they managed to serve our drinks fast and quick.

Our next stop was Max Brenner @ Melbourne Central. That was where I met Shi Kai too. To pass things. ;) So anyway, the service there was really slow. When Shi Kai met us, we were just ordering. And then he left shortly to go to RMIT to settle some school stuff. After that, he actually came back. Just when he called (after leaving for around 15-20minutes), my drink just arrived. May Ying’s drink arrived 10minutes before mine. That’s how slow they are. REALLY SLOW and it wasn’t that crowded.

From Max Brenner…

Image hosting by Photobucket
Their menu had a much wider selection. There were many more drinks to order and the variety was greater… But a number of drinks sounded a bit similar to one another.

Image hosting by Photobucket
While May Ying had Marshmallow American Chocolate… (It’s essentially just whipped milk chocolate with melted marshmallow cubes)

Image hosting by Photobucket
I had Whipped Iced Chocolate Frappe… (It’s just plain milk chocolate blended with ice but they had to use the word ‘whipped’. Whipped ke lan!)

Both drinks just look okay. Mine looks like you can get it at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. Nothing so fantastic about it. I waited so long for my drink that I thought that it would be something uber nice in terms of presentation. But then, when I saw the drink, my expression just showed this emotion that could be expressed in 3 very simple words - WHAT THE FUCK?!

Image hosting by Photobucket
And at the end of it, this was what we paid (for some shitty stuff)…

Overall Rating:
Quality - 3/5
Taste - 3/5
Presentation - 2.5/5
Service - 2.5/5
Ambience - 2.5/5
Pricing - 3/5

Other Comments:
Their presentation of the drinks wasn’t all that fantastic. It just feels really normal. Even though they are about $0.50 - $1.00 cheaper than Koko Black, the quality of their drinks is inferior. The drinks taste thinner and aren’t as delightful. The presentation makes you wonder why you didn’t just go into Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf to order their Chocolate Ice Blended. On top of that, the slow service puts people off. I actually saw my drink standing there for 5-10 minutes without anybody bothering to serve it. Then why not make it self service instead? The ambience isn’t that good. Looks about the same as Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf or Starbucks or Gloria Jeans. It wasn’t a cosy setting and the tables were too low for the chairs. Makes sitting there for long periods rather uncomfortable. It doesn’t make you feel like you’ll want to sit there long, to have a good chat. Just makes you feel like leaving once you finish your drink.

My Verdict:
I like Koko Black better! Hahaha. You pay slightly more, but it’s really worth it. ;) Taste, ambience, presentation, service and quality are all much better than Max Brenner.

Okay, so that same night, Wage, PZ and I went to Sin City @ Heist.

Image hosting by Photobucket
That’s just the 3 of us at Clayton Station waiting for the train…

Image hosting by Photobucket
Then here’s my a little bit crumpled ticket…

There was this uber long queue but we weren’t really queuing though… It’s kind of hard to explain… And… We met Eunice there… Small world huh? Oh, Shi kai was there too. Actually, I knew that he was going all along. Hahahaha. I just wasn’t so sure if I would end up going. Haha.

Image hosting by Photobucket
And so, this is Shi Kai, PZ, me and Wage… We’re just nuahing around. It’s damn boring. I repeat, BORING and it’s spelt B-O-R-I-N-G. BORING. Pronunciation: ‘bOr-i[ng].

Let me tell it why it was so. First of all, the air conditioning wasn’t powerful enough. It was just CRAP. There was no ventilation and the club had to put up fans which wasn’t really that useful unless you stood in front of it. Which was what I ended up doing. In fact, when there wasn’t anyone on the couch, the four of us promptly plopped ourselves on it. Haha. That’s how the pictures were taken. LoLz.

Well, but the mambo/retro/pop section was more fun. There was better breathing air, there was more space, the music didn’t repeat itself after a while, the air was cooler and not so hot (air conditioning was working!), not so many drunk people around (considering that we got into the club around 11plus, 12am, there were already drunk people slobbering on each other and throwing themselves at the feet of others) and they were also showing Ocean’s 12 (which I watched before so it wasn’t a problem watching it muted).

We eventually left around 4plus reaching Hawker Cafe at 5am for supper. Or rather, almost 5am. Cuz Wage had stomach problems, we took a cab back after that. For 3 people, the cab fare wasn’t all that bad I guess. $47.30. Beats taking the cab home alone. Hahahahaha~

Yeap… that pretty much sums up Friday’s events. It’s quite easy to see what I did on Saturday. I slept. And slept. ;)

Woah… I’m waiting for my hair to dry now… Hee~ Just got back not too long ago… LoLz… Cab fare back was $47.30 hee~ That’s quite a bit isn’t it? At least there wasn’t any surcharge lah… Means normal days taking cab back from city also same price….

Hmm…. I’ve got lots to update lah…. ;) But I’m sleepy already though somewhat sick yet energetic… It’s a weird combination I know… But well, I’ll update later…. After I wake up from my sleep! Hehehehehe!~

Just had itchy fingers and wanted to blog a bit lah… LoLz….
